George Francois, pianist/composer/arranger

George Francois is a classical pianist from Ghana based in New York, US. He performs as a solo and collaborative artist. He is an alumni of The Julliard School in New York City and holds degrees from the University of Ghana, Legon, the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, U.K., the University of Texas at Austin and Stony Brook University.

Dr. Francois is Music Director at St. John's United Methodist Church in N.Y., and Founder/Executive Director of Sankusem, a not-for-profit African Arts organization that is interested in performing and recording a genre of music composition that is intentional about using material from African music traditions-sometimes called African Art music or African Classical music. Fluent in multiple music genres, he is also a composer, arranger, songwriter, and improvisor.
