Joshua Bassette
Classical Host, Sunday afternoonsJoshua is the regular Sunday afternoon host on WXXI Classical, taking you from Sunday Baroque to The New York Philharmonic broadcast, and you can also hear him periodically fill in for other hosts.
A native of Honeoye Falls, NY, Joshua was first exposed to classical music by his parents, often listening to WXXI Classical throughout his childhood. His first foray into radio hosting was at Grove City College where he volunteered at the college radio station and received a degree in Music Education. After college Joshua moved to Michigan to work for the Interlochen Arts Academy and eventually became the Monday afternoon host on Interlochen Public Radio.
When not on the air Joshua teaches middle school math at School of the Arts, plays volleyball, and is involved with music in the area, singing at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pittsford, with Musica Spei, and many other choral ensembles.
