On December 14th host Candice Agree takes us back to the 9th century for a musical pilgrimmage through the Codex Calixtinus, a jewel in medieval bibliography, that is one of the richest medieval sources for historians, geographers, musicologists, sociologists, ethnologists, art historians and linguists.

On this edition of The Spanish Hour, we hear selections from the Codex Calixtinus, a 12th-century guidebook of sorts, containing advice and music for the pilgrimage. We’ll hear selections from this collection, as performed by Ensemble Organum.
