Klein International String Competition, we’ll hear the adrenaline filled performances taking place at this super charged event, meet the players, hear from the jury, and of course, learn who wins. Violinist Hayoung Choi plays an excerpt from Travel of Modes by Gloria Justen; violinist Jacques Forestier plays an excerpt from Violin Concerto in D by Jean Sibelius; violist Emily Hwang performs Cello Suite No. 4 by J.S. Bach; cellist Han Lee performs Cello Suite No. 2 by J.S. Bach; violinist Andromeda Kepecs performs an excerpt from Violin Concerto No. 2 by Bartók; violinist Jaewon Wee plays Travel of Modes by Gloria Justen and cellist Gaeun Kim plays excerpts from Variations on a Rococo Theme by Tchaikovsky.

1/12 Violinist Maxwell Brown performs Prelude No. 1 by Gershwin; pianist Sophia Shao performs Sonata No. 7 by Beethoven; United States Air Force Heritage of America Band’s Heritage Winds performs Aires Tropicales by Paquito D'Rivera; cellist Bhargava Kulkarni performs excerpts from Polonaise Brillante by Chopin; bassoonist Jorge Cruz Hernandez performs Bassoon Concerto by Vivaldi.

1/19 Schumann, Haydn, and a Joyful Gospel Choir Violinist Charles Yang returns as co-host. We meet a bubbly teen violinist, a pianist with a mission to connect with audiences, and a cellist who opens up about mental health. The Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel Choir sing us out with a performance that will have you on your feet and smiling!

1/26 Pianist Brayden Miao performs Moment Musicaux by Rachmaninoff; French hornist Kayla Nelson plays Villanelle by Paul Dukas; flutist Alex Saddlerplays The Great Train Race by Ian Clarke; bassist Jacob O'Toole performs Elegy No. 1 by Giovanni Bottesini; composer Hannah Wolkowitz presents an original composition.
