Walker's Pageant and Proclamation refers to the 1997 orchestral composition by the American composer George Walker, commissioned for the inauguration of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Composer George Walker was the first Black recipient of a doctoral degree from the Eastman School of Music in 1956. He also holds the distinction of being the first Black composer to win the Pulitzer Prize in Music for his work Lilacs in 1996.
