1/1: A Kaleidoscope of 20th Century Latin American Music
Fiesta showcases the kaleidoscopic variety of Latin American music shown through pieces of the great 20th century composers José Pablo Moncayo, from Mexico, Mozart Camargo Guarnieri, from Brazil, as well as the living Argentine composer Esteban Benzecry.

1/8: Great Orchestral Mexican Music: Julián Carrillo’s Symphony No. 2
Mexican composer and pioneer Julián Carillo is best known for his microtonal, experimental music. Aside from his musical laboratory, he was also an amazing post-romantic composer in the vein of Richard Strauss and others. Fiesta presents this other side, the romantic side of Julián Carrillo.

1/15: Sonic Imagery: Latin American and Spanish Music Inspired by Painters
Throughout history, many composers, from different countries, have been inspired by painters and visual artists. Fiesta presents a selection of musical works inspired by great creators such as the Spaniard Francisco Goya, the Mexican Alfaro Siqueiros and the Brazilian Cándido Portinari.

1/22: A 19th Century Brazilian Opera: Lo Schiavo by Carlos Gomes
Lo Schiavo is the love story of Américo, son of Count Rodrigo, and Ilàra, who is being forced to marry another. Elbio presents highlights from this rarely heard romantic opera.

1/29: Manuel Castillo: Spanish Composer
Among the composers that deserve more recognition is the great Manuel Castilo. Fiesta showcases some of his great works including the Symphony No. 3 “Poemas de Luz”.
