Opera gets noisy at Eastman

Paola Prestini's new opera Silent Light opens this Thursday, October 31, at the Eastman School of Music. Kearstin Brown sat down with the composer to talk about her process, her inspiration for the opera, and some of the unusual sounds that audiences will be treated to.

A native of Herndon, Virginia, Steve came to Rochester to earn his Ph.D. in Musicology at the Eastman School of Music. He has loved classical music and public media since his youth, and has worked for years to make classical music more accessible on social media.
