So, who is Randall Goosby? He's an award-winning performer who's already played Carnegie Hall twice...and he's only 25. An alumnus of From the Top, Goosby studied with Philippe Quint and Itzhak Perlman, and clearly learned his lessons well, thanking his teachers, friends, and especially his mother in the liner notes. Roots showcases some of our great Black composers, including Florence Price and William Grant Still, along with some Gershwin and Dvorak in the mix, all the while honoring the contribution of Black musicians in classical music. The reviews have been consistently glowing: The New York Times praised Goosby's "exquisite tone" and the Washington Post raved about his "mix of mastery and mystery." In an interview, Goosby said, “For me, personally, music has been a way for me to inspire others.” He has inspired us to choose Roots for our first CD Spotlight.
