“Actually, as I'm talking about it, I'm getting chills. It's so beautiful.” - Kim Chee Yun

Kim Chee Yun a violinist from Seoul, South Korea. Her professional name is "Chee-Yun." She studied at the Juilliard School and won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 1989 which led to her New York City recital debut at Carnegie Hall.

Join us Monday, May 30th at 8:00 p.m. to hear her in a fiery all-French program with the RPO performing works by Saint-Saëns, including the “Bacchanale” from Samson and Delilah and Symphony No. 3, “Organ” with guest conductor Christoph König. (The program will repeat Monday, August 29nd.)

Chee-Yun told WXXI’s Julia Figueras that Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole is so taxing that she’s slimmed down while preparing for performances.

“I actually call it my diet concerto. When I play this I could eat whatever. I've lost weight.”

Enjoy their conversation On Record.
