Thomas Warfield narrates a very Rochester "Peter and the Wolf" 6/16 @8pm

"Peter and the Wolf allows those of us who don't often attend classical music performances to kind of have an inroad, a bridge to this glorious music." ~ Thomas Warfield

It’s always an extra-special evening when the RPO’s beloved concertmaster, Juliana Athayde, performs as soloist. Hear her virtuosity in Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto. Also, hear diabolic dances from Lowell Liebermann’s ballet Frankenstein, and two works for children of all ages. Benjamin Britten introduced generations of listeners to classical music with his Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, spotlighting each section before bringing them together in a shimmering climax. And Thomas Warfield, RIT’s Director of Dance, tells a Rochester tale in Peter & the Wolf.

Andreas Delfs, conductor
