The Rochester Museum and Science Center’s “Science on the Edge Lecture Series” has presented talks on the migration of Monarch butterflies and plans for sending humans to Mars in 2020. Later this month, you can hear a lecture on the 3D printing of human organs. But first, this Thursday, the series teams up with the Rochester Music Hall of Fame to ask the question: “Why Rochester? Exploring the Music Business in Our Community.”
The evenings panelists will be longtime Rochester morning radio host and one-time concert promoter Brother Wease of WAOI-FM (95.1), longtime Democrat and Chronicle entertainment writer Jack Garner and myself, longtime local entertainment gadfly.
The concept of this talk, Exploring the Music Business in Our Community, is also connected to a museum exhibit called Sound Sense, which examines how we hear sound, and the technologies we use to create sound. Technologies that go beyond musicians using beer bottles to make sound. Such as the 3D printed guitar created by the Rochester Institute of Technology.
