Some say that classical music audiences are dwindling and aging out.  But the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is actively working to change that scenario with its commitment to the next generation of listeners, visionary programming collaborations with video game composers, and educational offerings that include regular school and family concerts.

The world premiere of Merregnon: Land of Silenceis a concert video production designed to introduce families and children to the wonder of the orchestral sound. Performed through narration, music and beautiful illustrations, the symphonic fairy tale follows the story of orphan Miru who embarks on an unforgettable adventure with her childhood friend Hikito and the trusty dog Mako. Their goal is to find out what is plaguing the Land of Silence, Merregnon.

Exclusive music is provided by acclaimed composer Yoko Shimomura, known for her compositions for video games Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV. The score demonstrates a lavish diversity of sound and displays the various orchestral sections and soloists. The story was written by celebrated German children’s author Frauke Angel.
