Bach-to-Bach Punning

Pianist Jeffrey Biegel
Penny R. Frondelli
Pianist Jeffrey Biegel

Blame it all on Jeffrey Biegel. He and several orchestras commissioned a new piano concerto from PDQ Bach...which got Jeffrey thinking.  There were already so many Bachs--JSB, CPE, WF, JC, JCF, to name a few.  How many other Bachs, he wondered, were out there? So Jeffrey asked us, the trusty world of classical announcers, if we knew of any.  And things got pretty silly.

Some of the suggestions:

  • OHM Bach, liked to be in charge, but resisted change
  • DOA Bach. The poor fellow never had a chance
  • ATM Bach, the richest Bach of all. Not to be confused with ATV Bach, who really got around
  • DDS Bach, a pioneer in oral hygiene
  • UFO Bach, who was mysterious, elusive and notoriously hard to photograph. Some refuse to acknowledge his very existence
  • OCD Bach. His manuscripts were perfect

So now it's your turn. What other members of the Bach family can you think of, and what were his or her accomplishments.  Just make a Liszt below...if you think we can Handel it.
