What's Your American Anthem?

https://www.npr.org/series/622671774/american-anthem

Anthems can fuel patriotism, unite fans at baseball games, rally the troops or animate political movements.

"American Anthem," a series from NPR, will tell the stories of 50 different songs -- unpacking the elements of an anthem and asking what a song says about our diverse American communities as well as our collective soul.  For the next year, listeners can expect to hear these stories on Morning Edition and All Things Considered on a nearly weekly basis.

From “Battle Hymn of the Republic” to “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” “9 To 5” to “Born This Way,” we’ll look at musical manifestos from across time, genres and subject matter.  If you have a suggestion for the series, you can submit your American anthem and your thoughts on NPR's website.
