In October 2018, cellist Beiliang Zhu, who is a rising star in the world of early music and currently pursuing a D.M.A. at the Eastman School of Music, joined the Publick Music to pursue perfection in an exploration of great works featuring the Baroque cello.
Biagio Marini authored this brief sonata, one of many works considered to be innovative in its time. Beiliang Zhu and Christopher Haritatos supply the cellos, with Naomi Gregory at the harpsichord. This is the second of three pieces from this concert that will be featured in Performance Rochester.
