Classical 91.5's Commitment to You
As the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we want to reassure you that WXXI Classical 91.5 and our Classical hosts are here for you, with beautiful music that is an oasis amid all the stress and anxiety we are experiencing in this surreal time. (Read more...) WXXI is doing all we can to keep our staff safe during these times. The majority of our support staff are working remotely. Our air staff are working limited hours (primarily just their air shift) to limit person-to-person contact as much as possible. We have suspended all interviews, volunteers and guests from live appearances in the studios. This means that there will be fewer arts features on the air, no Backstage Pass or Live from Hochstein for a couple of weeks, and production work is being done remotely. All precautions for cleaning and sanitizing the station are in full swing.
As always, Classical 91.5 is committed to providing our listeners with the best service and the best music we have to offer. In these times of isolation, hearing those familiar voices can provide companionship and comfort for listeners. Our local hosts are working hard to keep abreast of changes, as well as opportunities for you to virtually connect with other classical music lovers.
Please connect with us on Facebook, and on our website where you will find links to organizations that are streaming their performances, as well as information about virtual events in which you can participate. Read a blog about live streaming of concert events.
Be well, be safe, be proactive, be a friend…reach out to others who may need support, and stay tuned to Classical 91.5 on air, online, on mobile, on your smart device.
