This was to be a big season for Cordancia Chamber Orchestra, as it celebrated its 10th year; part of the celebration included a performance on Backstage Pass in February. Founded in 2009 by violinist Pia Liptak and oboist Kathleen Suher, the ensemble has offered up a decade of vibrant, eclectic programs that blend the traditional with the unexpected. We'll keep the party going for Cordancia with three Performance Rochester appearances. This first, from November 2019, features Hans Christian Lumbye's Champagne Galop, complete with popping corks. Rachel Lauber conducts.
WXXI Classical's annual celebration of local performing groups. While the novel coronavirus has resulted in the cancellation of concerts and seasons, we brought some of the area's best live musical moments to you. This focus on local music has continued through the show Performance Upstate and the continued inclusion of live, local performances as part WXXI's daily programming.
