Ryan Murphy is currently in his fifth season with the San Antonio Symphony, and was previously the OTPAAM fellow with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He received his masters degree from the Juilliard School and bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. As the result of placing second in the Sphinx Competition in 2003, Mr. Murphy made his solo debut with the Detroit Symphony followed by an additional appearance with the Cleveland Orchestra. He is in his second year as adjunct cello instructor at the University of Texas San Antonio.
