Freelance musician, clinician, composer-arranger, conductor and Conn-Selmer artist, Herbert Smith is third trumpet of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. As leader of his jazz trio named The Freedom Trio, his hands are full in the music world. From working with grade school kids learning solpheghi, playing in an orchestra concert, recording with a reggae band or playing jazz at a club, Herb’s reach in music extends high and low, near and far, young and old. He has been commissioned to compose for music organizations and schools as well as composing for his Jazz trio.
