Shea Scruggs, oboe and panelist

Scruggs holds a bachelor of arts in English literature from Swarthmore College, a diploma of music in oboe from the Curtis Institute, and a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University. He has served as the assistant principal oboe of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, acting principal oboe of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and principal oboe of the San Francisco Opera. He is the founder of Dolce Reeds, a reed manufacturing company he developed in collaboration with engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and professional oboists.
