WXXI Classical's annual celebration of local performing groups. While the novel coronavirus has resulted in the cancellation of concerts and seasons, we brought some of the area's best live musical moments to you. This focus on local music has continued through the show Performance Upstate and the continued inclusion of live, local performances as part WXXI's daily programming.

Behind the scenes at a rehearsal for the German Masters concert

Brahms: Piano Quintet, Op 34 (1864)

Juliana Athayde, violin; Thomas Rodgers, violin; Phillip Ying, viola; Steven Doane, cello and pianist Chiao-Wen Chen perform in a concert "German Masters" recorded at Hochstein on Feb 7, 2017.

The Society for Chamber Music in Rochester presents Chamber Music concerts featuring musicians of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Eastman School of Music. The Society's mission is to "perform great works of chamber music of all periods and styles. Our outreach mission teaches and reaches students of all ages; and inspires chamber music’s on-going creation through composition competitions."
