This focus on local music has continued through the show Performance Upstate and the continued inclusion of live, local performances as part WXXI's daily programming.

First Muse Chamber Music was started by Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra principal violist Melissa Matson in 2007, and is supported by the generosity of the Carolyn and Richard Wilson Concert Fund at the First Unitarian Church of Rochester. This annual series of concerts brings together the artistry of the area's finest musicians in a wide variety of chamber music, striving to inspire a diverse audience with performances of repertoire ranging from the familiar to the fresh.
