Although the repertoire was set a year ago, this Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra program is deeply relevant to current events: two works written in a time of war, and one that assures us that we will come through the darkness and into the light. RPO Music Director Andreas Delfs and pianist Jorge Federico Osorio chat with WXXI Classical music director Julia Figueras about Beethoven's Concerto No. 5, the Emperor, Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5, and "Something for the Dark" by Sarah Kirkland Snider.

A Strong Memorial baby and Greece Arcadia grad, Julia Figueras was the Music Director and mid-day host for WXXI Classical until June 30, 2023 when she retired after more than 26 years of service. She also hosted the award-winning monthly interview/performance show, Backstage Pass.
