David Berry, piano

A native of Syracuse, NY, David Berry’s music-making has been described as both “compelling” and “full of power.” Berry has performed in venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Bechstein Auditorium, the FOCUS festival, Jacoby Symphony Hall, as well as in live broadcasts on WQXR (NYC). Berry was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2007 Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, as well as a prizewinner in the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition.

He received a BM with High Distinction from the Eastman School of Music and MM and DMA degrees from the Juilliard School.

David, who grew up simultaneously in two different musical worlds, is on the of Eastern Mennonite University. He often jammed with his dad who played blues guitar, then would play the organ for their Southern Baptist Gospel quartet.
