12/5 Host Peter Dugan welcomes percussionist Kevin Reyes playing Ravel’s Alborada del gracioso, violist Emily Hwang plays Brahms’ Violin Sonata, and violinist Maxwell Fairman performs the beautiful Summerland by William Grant Still. There’s also music by Elgar and Debussy.

12/12 Pianist Peter Dugan hosts a program of highlights from the past three seasons. We revisit the appearance of a young pianist who performs the music of Stravinsky and then discusses the impressive work he’s done in the field of environmental science; a teenage violinist’s performance of a dazzling work by Fritz Kreisler and enjoy her humorous tale of getting a nose bleed just before playing with a major orchestra; and a 14-year-old performs the only piece written for guitar by British composer, William Walton.

12/19 This week’s show features guest artist Anthony McGill, Principal Clarinetist for the New York Philharmonic who performs alongside a great line-up of young musicians, TBA.

12/26 From the Colburn School in Los Angeles, host Peter Dugan welcomes pianist Lindsey Yang who performs the music of Shostakovich; cellist Angeline Kiang performs Three Fantasy Pieces by Robert Schumann and shares her experience rehearsing with an artificially intelligent piano; and oboist Fengyang (William) Ju performs more by Schumann.
