Pianist Helen Bryant

Teenage pianist Helen Bryant, hails from Waleska, Georgia. Her most profound musical experience prior to her From the Top taping was performing Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien at the Emory Young Artists Competition in 2017. We'll hear her perform an impressionistic work for solo piano by Alexandre Tansman on the March 20th broadcast (5pm).

3/6 Host Peter Dugan meets clarinetist Bram Schenck who straddles both Klezmer and the western classical canon; violinist Julia LaGrand who, as a blind musician herself, advocates for the greater inclusion of the blind community in the performing arts; trumpeter Benjamin D’Haiti who has an incredible range; a piano duo of Naomi Kobayashi and Sophie Nguyen from Honolulu; and cellist Hayden Idson from Boston who believes in the connection between his physical fitness and musical performance.
