Special: Rachmaninoff 150: A Celebration, Sat 4/1 @ 12pm

In this special celebrating the 150th birthday of composer Sergei Rachmaninov, grandson Alexandre Rachmaninoff (d. 2012) who was custodian of the Rachmaninov Foundation and the Swiss estate, reflects on his grandfather's legacy and reputation.

4/1 April 1st marks the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s birth. Acclaimed pianists including Hélène Grimaud, Nikolai Lugansky, Mikhail Pletnev and more discuss and perform his compositions, and Rachmaninoff himself is also heard performing one of his works. Additionally, the composer’s grandson, Alexander Rachmaninoff, remembers his grandfather.
