The RPO presents Handel's Messiah, Christmas Day @4pm

RPO

Messiah remains a cornerstone of classical music and a testament to Handel's enduring legacy.

George Frideric Handel composed Messiah in 1741.

Comprising three parts, it narrates the biblical story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It's performed worldwide during the Christmas season and continues to inspire and uplift audiences with its powerful music and profound themes.

In this concert performance from December 2022, RPO Conductor Laureate Christopher Seaman leads the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Oratorio Society, and soloists Christina Pier, soprano; Emily Marvosh, contralto; Isaiah Bell, tenor; and Stephen Hegedus, bass-baritone. Eric Townell directs the ROS.
