JANÁČEK Lachian Dance No. 1

DVOŘÁK Cello Concerto

RAUTAVAARA Cantus Arcticus

SIBELIUS Symphony No. 7

Cellist Zlatomir Fung performs Dvořák’s Cello Concerto. Rautavaara’s Cantus Arcticus layers the recorded cries for wild birds over waves of orchestral sound. Janáček’s spirited "Lachian Dance No. 1" opens the program, and Sibelius’ final work, the Seventh Symphony, brings the April 2025 concert to a close.

This concert will repeat on November 3, 2025 at 8:00 p.m.

Broadcast of RPO Concerts on WXXI Classical is made possible in part by a gift in loving memory of Lenore Lesser and by a grant from Dr. Ralph Jozefowicz, honoring classical music in Rochester.
