3/11      Foreign Impressions of Spain  Ravel, Debussy, Chabrier, and Franz Liszt were just a few of the many composers whose imaginations were sparked by the customs and music of the Iberian Peninsula. This week, we hear their impressions of Spain.

3/18      Spanish Music that Doesn’t Sound “Spanish” 20th-century Spanish composers whose works owe more to European modernism than to the folkloric musical traditions of Spain.

3/25      Chamber works from Central and South America  A suite for six – count-em six -- tubas by Panama’s Enrique Crespo, plus miniatures for small orchestra from Uruguay’s Roque Cordero. Federico Moreno Torroba’s homage to the dance “seguidilla” round out this week’s program.
