Interlochen Public Radio

5/5       From the campus of the University of California, Berkeley, this episode features the winning
ensemble of KDFC’s Local Vocals High School Choir Sing-Off and, at 120 singers, it’s the largest
group ever featured on the program. We also meet a 17-year-old pianist who talks about the
difficulty of preparing for competitions without a piano, and a young string quartet performs the
rhapsodic first movement of Debussy’s string quartet.
5/12      From the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts, guest host, actor and conductor Damon Gupton and pianist Michelle Cann feature three winners of Interlochen’s Concerto Competition, the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble.
5/19        Recorded in Las Vegas for the very first time, this episode features an outstanding cast of young musicians from Nevada and beyond. A piano duo performs an electrifying piece for four-hands, a teenage guitarist shares his incredibly moving story about fleeing from his home country to study music in America, and a 13-year-old violinist wows the audience with two high-flying pieces.
5/26      From Calderwood Hall at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, guest host and  innovative violinist Leila Josefowicz features some exciting chamber music collaborations.
