6/8 Hilariously Inept – We love to laugh at their bumbling yet they somehow succeed. This week movies featuring incompetent characters, including The Ladykillers, The PinkPanther, Raising Arizona, Austen Powers, Afish called Wanda, Airplane, The Naked Gun, O Brother Where Ar Thou, Mystery Men, Idiocracy, and The Simpsons.
6/15 Here There Be Dragons – Whether real or myth dragons have appeared in every culture for centuries and this week Hollywood’s fascination with these legendary creatures, including Game of Thrones, How to Train Your Dragon, The Hobbit. Eragon, Dragonheart, Dragon Wars: D-War, Dragon Slayer, Shrek, The NeverEnding Story, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Spirited Away.
6/22 Island Time – Sometimes havens of relaxation but occasionally places of fear we celebrate islands in movies this week with music and moments from Virgin Island, The Jungle, Cutthroat Island, Nim’s Island, Jurassic World, Treasure Island, Muppet Treasure Island, Eat, Pray, Love, The Blue Lagoon, Mysterious Island, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and Shutter Island.
6/29 Hollywood’s ‘A’ List – Sigourney Weaver – From the first Alien movie in 1979 to numerous Avatar films currently in production Sigourney Weaver continues to be a major star and this week we focus on her talents including the aforementioned and also Ghostbusters, Gorillas in the Mist, Galaxy Quest, Working Girl, Dave, The Ice Storm, and even narrator of the iconic Planet Earth.
