10/10    Romantic Nationalism During the late 19th century and early 20th century, many Latin American composers wrote pieces in a romantic and nationalistic style, combining the techniques of 19th century western music with the flavor of rhythms and melodies of their countries. Fiesta explores that fascinating musical period.

10/24    Music for the Ballet Many of the most formidable pieces of the last hundred years have been dedicated to the ballet or modern dance—and Latin American music is no exception! Fiesta will present some of the most beloved, magical, and dramatic Latin American works for dance.

10/31    Dia de los Muertos - Day of the Dead Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, has inspired music in Latin American culture throughout history.  Often confused with Halloween in America, the Day of the Dead is about honoring and paying tribute to one’s ancestors.  On this episode of Fiesta we will explore music that celebrates the many facets of this holiday.
