Pianist Angelina Ning is just one of the many talented pianists we'll hear from the Texas State International Piano Festival.  She performs Serried with a Tinge of Bop by Doug Opel. It took me a moment, but then realized it is a take off of Surrey with the Fringe on Top. Tune in to hear it, Sep 5th at 5pm.

9/5       From the Texas State International Piano Festival concert pianist Simone Dinnerstein puts the spotlight on the piano in all its splendid configurations. We’ll hear pianist Angelina Ning performing Serried with a Tinge of Bop, by Doug Opel, the Hoang Piano Duo performing Laideronnette, Empress of the Pagodas from Mother Goose Suite by Maurice Ravel, Schubert Piano Quintet performing Theme and Variations from the Trout Piano Quintet by Franz Schubert and Eight Hands, One Piano Ensemble performs Galop-Marche for Eight Hands by Albert Lavignac.

9/12      Co-host/clarinetist Alex Laing returns to collaborate with host Peter Dugan and talented teens, recorded in part at The Colburn School in Los Angeles.

9/19      From the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, we’ll hear pianist Caroline Hsu perform Beethoven’s Waldstein sonata, violinist Rebecca Beato performs a Caprice by Fritz Kreisler, guitarist Conor Padmanabhan performs a fiery Spanish guitar piece by Turina, cellist Joshua Ková? plays music by David Popper, and the brother/sister violin duo of Daniel and Isabel Chin play music for two violins by Nicolò Paganini.
