Her Majesty's diverse and eclectic love of music stretches back to childhood, and has played a significant role in Royal Celebrations through her reign.

The Queen's coronation, her wedding, and her silver, golden and diamond jubilees were all royal celebrations filled with music.

On today's special we will hear music composed for the Queen through four generations. From the romantic Edward Elgar, to modernist Benjamin Britten, and one of today's most successful film and Royal composers, Debbie Wiseman OBE, we'll enjoy some of the most important works written, played and sung for Queen Elizabeth in this BBC special production.

One of 11 composers chosen to write music for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012, award-winning stage and screen composer Debbie Wiseman was also commissioned to compose the Overture and Finale for the Queen's 90th birthday in 2015, and also music for her Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Wiseman is the recipient of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters' Gold Badge of Merit, a Fellow of the Royal College of Music and, in 2018, was awarded an OBE by the Queen for services to music.
