WXXI Celebrates Music In Our Schools Month With Strings For Success

Music In Our Schools Month has been celebrated for more than forty years in the United States to raise awareness for the importance of music education for all children.

This year, WXXI is partnering with Strings for Success, a program at the Center for Youth that creates opportunities for children at Charles T. Lunsford School 19 in the Rochester City School District to benefit from the transformational power of music and build assets for the future.

Strings for Success is looking for gently used string instruments for their students to use, so if you have one available, you can donate it in-person at the Center for Youth (905 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY 14620). For more information you can also call them at (585)473-2464 or email info@centerforyouth.net. Finally, you can visit the Center For Youth's donation page to see a full list of their needs.
