WXXI Classical hosts recognized by New York State Broadcasters Association

Congratulations to WXXI Classical hosts & sometimes arts news reporters Mona Seghatoleslami and Brenda Tremblay for winning Excellence in Broadcasting Awards from the New York State Broadcasters Association (NYBSA).

The NYSBA awards recognize outstanding achievement among radio and TV stations in New York State.

Violinist returns to Eastman to collaborate with Students/Faculty,” a story by WXXI Classical Music host/reporter Mona Seghatoleslami, won the NYSBA Award in the “Outstanding Feature” category. The feature shares details about an Eastman Music School alumni who returns to the school to work with students.

The second NYSBA Award recognized “The Siren’s Song at Eastman Opera Theatre” in the “Outstanding Audio” category. The piece, produced by WXXI Classical Music host/reporter Brenda Tremblay, spotlights a double bill of American operas at the Eastman School of Music.

The NYSBA Awards ceremony will be held at the Country Club of Rochester on September 20, 2022.
