"When I started walking Porter, we went down to Mount Hope Cemetery where there were a lot of hills and great places to visit. It's at that point that I met a whole bunch of other dog people . . . Now, I think of all the connections, all the groups I'm playing in now all just because of walking a dog!"

Born in NYC and raised in Hicksville, Peter Hasler graduated the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam with a degree in Music Education. After teaching in Uniondale for several years he moved to Rochester and taught at Palmyra-Macedon from 1976 through 2011. He has played in the Perinton Concert Band (as a charter member), the Penfield Symphony, the Batavia Brass Society Quintet, Masterbrass, and has been in the pit for many high school musicals throughout the area. Peter currently plays trombone in the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra, multiple instruments with Meghan Koch and the Gentleman Callers, the Geezers, the Traditional Irish group the Bucks of Oranmore, and is a December member with Watkins and the Rapiers.
