The Geneva Music Festival is making its debut on Performance Rochester, but it isn't the first time on our airwaves; the GMF has made two previous appearances on Backstage Pass. In 2011, violinist Geoffrey Herd brought together a group of friends to "entertain, inspire, and nurture a lifelong appreciation of classical music throughout the community" of Geneva, his hometown, and surrounding towns. Needless to say, Geoffrey has brilliant friends, and they have been packing houses from the start.
This is the first of two appearances, both drawn from "A Transfigured Night," the second concert of the 2018 season. Geoffrey Herd is joined by violinist Jinjoo Cho, violists Catherine Cosbey and Eric Wong, and cellists Max Geissler and Si Yan Darran Li for the original chamber version of Arnold Schoenberg's work about love and forgiveness.
