Brazilian-born, American-based soloist, chamber musician, orchestral performer, and teaching clinician, Dr. Patricia Silva Weitzel is a member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Lecturer of Double Bass at Columbus State University where she oversees the instruction of all Double Bass studio activities as well as chamber music, music skills and string methods classes. Weitzel is the former Membership Chair and current Marketing Chair of the International Society of Bassists, an organization whose goal is to connect those who teach, study, play, repair, build and enjoy the double bass. Recent engagements include the Sphinx Organization, Gateways Music Festival and the League of American Orchestras.
