The Ekstasis Duo (Natasha Farny, cello and Eliran Avni, piano) will play luscious Romantic Viennese music from a student/teacher pairing, Alexander Zemlinsky and Alma Mahler; a dynamic sonata movement by George Walker (the first African-American composer to win a Pulitzer); a charming nocturne by Lili Boulanger (the first woman to win the Rome Prize); and a blockbuster sonata by Dutch composer Henriette Bosmans.
You're invited to hear this music on Live from Hochstein on Wednesday November 17th at 12:10pm, in person* at the Hochstein Performance Hall (50 N. Plymouth Avenue, downtown Rochester) or by listening to the live broadcast on WXXI Classical.
