R. STRAUSS Till Eulenspiegel
SAINT-SAËNS The Carnival of the Animals
STRAVINKSY Petrushka
Music Director Andreas Delfs leads the RPO in a collection of musical stories. Richard Strauss’ Till Eulenspiegel tells tales of a medieval German trickster, with the first heroic motif spelling out the syllables of his name. Petrushka tells a story drawn from Russian folktales. Stravinsky’s score brings the title character into human experiences, including soaring love and tragic death.
