Poetry inspires music in many ways. Hear music from choral pieces and art songs to poetic pieces for piano, winds, and strings recorded over the years on Live from Hochstein, inspired by poems of Langston Hughes, Paul Verlaine, Emily Dickinson, Rudyard Kipling, and children who were imprisoned at the Terezin Concentration Camp. Featuring performances by the Telos Trio, Concentus Women’s Chorus, Cordancia, Geneseo Chamber Singers, and the Salaff Quartet in music by Claude Debussy, Lori Laitman, Valerie Coleman, Fanny Mendelssohn, Amanda Harberg, Cary Ratcliff, Fanny Mendelssohn, Eric Whitacre, and more. Mona Seghatoleslami hosts and produced this special program.
