The Swan of Tuonela with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, March 2020


Sibelius' Lemminkainen Suite explores the Finnish epic the Kalevala. One of these legends tells of a mystical swan that swims alone around Tuonela, the island of the dead. An English horn depicts the character of the swan in this tone poem (3/17).
