7/6        Chamber works from Central and South America A suite for six – count-em six -- tubas by Panama’s Enrique Crespo, plus miniatures for small orchestra from Uruguay’s Roque Cordero. Federico Moreno Torroba’s homage to the dance “seguidilla” round out this week’s program.

7/13      Chamber Music from Spain, Argentina, and Mexico 20th-century chamber music by Spain’s Joaquín Turina, Argentina’s Astor Piazzolla, and Mexico’s Carlos Chávez.

7/20      Spanish Piano Masterpieces This week, the well-known Suite Española # 1 by Isaac Albéniz, plus lesser-known but enchanting works for piano by Federico Longás and Jesús Guridi.

7/27      El Sistema: Venezuela’s Orchestral “System” Works by Venezuelan composers Inocente Carreño, Aldemaro Romero, and Antonio Estévez Aponte, presented by Gustavo Dudamel leading the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra, the best known of the orchestras of “El Sistema;” and Eduardo Mata conducting Venezuela’s professional Simón Bolívar Orchestra and Chorus.
