Michael Morgan, Conductor of the Gateways Music Festival Orchestra in Rochester, and the Oakland Symphony died on Friday, August 20th at the age of 63. Lara Downes, pianist and digital host on KUSC in Los Angeles worked with Michael many times and has produced this tribute special, where she pays tribute to Michael Morgan’s mission and vision for American music, with recordings of elegiac works conducted by some of his close mentors and collaborators.
