WXXI's Brenda Tremblay caught a few moments with Rochester resident and American tenor Gregory Kunde, fresh from his winning “Best Male Singer” in the 2016 International Opera Awards in London. He spoke by phone from Cincinnati(shortly before an appearance in a concert performance of Verdi’s opera “Otello”) on a range of subjects including singers' longevity, what he loves about Upstate New York, and how a taking a major mid-career risk has catapulted him to the most prestigious opera stages in the world.

Brenda Tremblay has served as weekday morning host on WXXI Classical since 2009.
