Backstage Pass at the Gateways Music Festival - 8/9 & 8/11/19

Backstage Pass is hitting the road again, and you can be there to see it! In celebration of the Gateways Music Festival, Julia Figueras again hosts Backstage Pass live from Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre with the GMF Orchestra, guest artists, and a live audience.

Violist Jennifer Arnold, Cellist Cremaine Booker, Bassoonist Monica Ellis, clarinetist Alexander Laing, and horn player Robert Watt, along with Gateways President and Artistic Director Lee Koonce all join Julia to chat about the importance of the festival...with music by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Florence Price, and more.  The broadcast concludes with James Cockerham's arrangement of Lift Every Voice and Sing.

You are invited to attend--it's free! Just be at the hall by 12:40 PM. The show starts at 1 PM on Friday, August 9; you can hear a repeat on Sunday, August 11 at 1 PM.

A Strong Memorial baby and Greece Arcadia grad, Julia Figueras was the Music Director and mid-day host for WXXI Classical until June 30, 2023 when she retired after more than 26 years of service. She also hosted the award-winning monthly interview/performance show, Backstage Pass.
