Here's what organist Peter DuBois, in reflecting on performing on the organ of St. Anne Church during the November 2019 REMF:
"The music of Johann Sebastian Bach is at the core of who I am as an organist.? Time and time again during this pandemic, when stressed about any number of things, coming back to the music of Bach has provided a place of refuge, and mental clarity.? I always feel better, and more centered, after studying and playing some Bach - whether learning a piece new to my repertoire, or re-working a piece that's been an old friend for decades.? The inevitable logic of its musical construction, and the endless inventiveness of Bach's musical brain provides the perfect respite from a troubling world, and difficult time in which we're living.?"
