Naomi Shihab Nye is the author and/or editor of more than thirty books, including four poetry collections from BOA Editions: Red Suitcase (1994), Fuel (1998), You & Yours (2005), and Transfer (2011). She is the recipient of a Lannan Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the Witter Bynner Fellowship from the Library of Congress. In 2010, she was elected to the Board of Chancellors of the Academy of American Poets. She lives in San Antonio, Texas.

WXXI Poetry Moments are created in collaboration with Rochester-based BOA Editions, in celebration of National Poetry Month.
